The University of Maine School of Law (Maine Law) is a small, yet dynamic institution that prides itself on offering a highly personalized legal education. Located on the beautiful coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Portland, Maine, Maine Law provides students with access to a world-class faculty and a close-knit academic environment. The law school emphasizes hands-on learning, public service, and innovative approaches to legal education. Maine Law’s Signature Programs include: Environmental & Oceans Law, Privacy Law, Public Interest and Social Justice Law, and Business and Transactional Law. Maine Law has the only Arctic law program in the country. This interdisciplinary program engages institutions in the US and abroad, notably the Climate Change Institute (CCI) of the University of Maine. Alaskan residents receive in-state tuition at Maine Law.

Through its 3+3 partnership program with UAF, students have the opportunity to complete both their undergraduate and law degrees in six years—three years at UAF and three years at Maine Law. UAF students who are admitted to Maine Law will also be eligible for in-state tuition, making this an affordable option for students who are interested in pursuing a legal career in a unique, supportive, and globally-conscious environment.
